Information about telc A2 exam
The Perfect German Language Academy is a licensed telc examination center. You can register with us for the telc Deutsch A2 language test within the registration deadline. In addition, Perfect German offers A2 intensive courses and A2 evening courses for participants who want to take the telc A2 language test.

When do I have to be Perfect German on the day of the examination in the examination center and what do I have to bring with me?
After you have registered for the telc exam, you will receive a detailed schedule by email a few days before the exam.

- You must have your photo ID or passport with you.

Who is the telc A2 exam for?
The telc A2 exam examines language skills at level A2 and is aimed at German learners who have advanced knowledge of German at an advanced level and would like to obtain an official language certificate at level A2.

What is the telc A2 exam?
The telc A2 exam is an internationally recognized telc language test. The telc A2 certificate is recognized both in Germany and by many public institutions abroad.

How is the telc Deutsch A2 language test structured?
The telc A2 exam consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam takes about 70 minutes.
- Listen for 20 minutes
- Reading and writing 50 minutes
In the writing part of the examination, the examinees have to independently write a short text. This can be both an informal and a formal letter. The oral exam takes about 16 minutes (excluding preparation time) and usually takes place on the same day. The telc A2 German exam is a couple exam and runs like a conversation or interview. The oral exam has three parts: In the first part, the candidates introduce themselves. Immediately afterwards, the participants have an everyday conversation (with the help of cards with W-questions). The third part of the telc A2 exam is about the fact that the participants have to negotiate something. For example, you should make an appointment to buy a present.

Can I use a dictionary with telc Deutsch A2?
No.

How is the exam graded?
The exam is passed if at least 60% is achieved in both the written and the oral part. That means you have to achieve at least 36 points.

When do I get the telc certificate?
The examination is evaluated centrally at the telc headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. As soon as Perfect Deutsch has received the certificates, we will inform you (usually approx. 4-5 weeks after the exam date) by email. Then you can collect your certificates at the Perfect German Examination Center during office hours on presentation of your photo ID.

Can the certificate also be sent to me? Also abroad?
– Shipping is possible, but must be paid for on the day of the inspection (domestic € 10, within the EU € 20). Outside the EU, we only send the certificates via express delivery (DHL) for a fee of € 90.

Can someone else pick up my certificate?
With a signed power of attorney and a copy of your identity card, you can have the certificate picked up by someone you trust. The person must also have ID with them.

How long is my telc certificate valid?
Your certificate for a passed telc exam is valid indefinitely.

Can I repeat the exam?
Yes. You can repeat the telc A2 exam as often as you like. You have to repeat the entire exam – written and oral.
