The Perfekt Deutsch Language Academy is a licensed telc examination center. You can register with us for the telc Deutsch A2- B1 language test within the registration deadline. In addition, Perfekt Deutsch offers B1 intensive courses and B1 evening courses for participants who want to take the telc German A2-B1 language test.

Once the fee has been paid, registration for the telc exam is binding.

When do I have to be in the Perfect German Examination Center on the day of the exam and what do I have to bring with me?
After you have registered for the telc exam, you will receive a detailed schedule by email a few days before the exam.
IMPORTANT: Keep the whole day free!
- Please come to school on time on the day of the exam.
- You must have your photo ID or passport with you.

For whom is the telc A2-B1 exam suitable?
The telc A2–B1 exam assesses language competence at levels A2–B1 and is aimed at everyone who has basic knowledge of German and would like to obtain proof of language proficiency, for example for naturalisation in Germany.
The telc A2–B1 exam is also suitable for people who intend to study or complete vocational training in Germany and need proof of their German language skills. For example, the telc B1 certificate is accepted by some colleges and universities as an admission requirement for various English-language degree programmes and as an application requirement for German-language degree programmes.

What is the telc A2-B1 exam?
The telc A2–B1 exam is an internationally recognised language examination. The telc A2–B1 certificate is recognised both in Germany and by many public institutions abroad.

How is the telc Deutsch A2-B1 language test structured?
The telc A2–B1 exam consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam lasts 2 hours and 5 minutes.
Reading comprehension: 45 minutes
Language elements, reading and writing: 35 minutes
Listening, listening and writing: 35 minutes
Writing: 10 minutesThe oral exam lasts approximately 15 minutes and usually takes place on the same day.

Can I use a dictionary at telc Deutsch A2-B1 exam?
No.

How is the exam graded?
A2 certificate or B1 certificate?
Whether a candidate receives a telc certificate at level A2 or B1 for their exam performance depends on the total score and on the points achieved in the four subtests.
To pass the B1 exam, 70 percent of the total points must be achieved (168 points). In addition, candidates must achieve at least 70 percent (42 points) in 3 of the 4 subtests — Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking — as well as at least 40 percent (24 points) in each subtest.
To pass the A2 exam, 40 percent of the total points must be achieved (96 points). In addition, candidates must achieve at least 40 percent (24 points) in 3 of the 4 subtests — Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking — as well as at least 10 percent (6 points) in each subtest.

When and how will I receive my telc certificate?
You will usually receive your certificate approximately 4–6 weeks after the exam date, once the evaluation by telc has been completed.
The certificate will be provided digitally as a PDF by e-mail. You can save it, forward it or print it out if needed. -
How long is my telc certificate valid?
Your certificate for a passed telc exam is valid indefinitely.

Can I repeat the exam?
Yes, you can retake the telc Deutsch A2–B1 exam as many times as you wish. You must retake the entire exam — both the written and the oral part.
