When do I have to be in the Perfect German Examination Center on the day of the exam and what do I have to bring with me?
After you have registered for the telc exam, you will receive a detailed schedule by email a few days before the exam.

For whom is the telc C1 Hochschule exam suitable?
The telc C1 Hochschule exam examines language skills at level C1 and is aimed at applicants who have a very advanced level of German and want to obtain proof of language proficiency for enrollment at a university or college. The telc C1 Hochschule exam is also suitable for people who are already studying or already working in an academic profession and who need proof of their German language skills.

What is the telc C1 Hochschule exam?
The telc C1 Hochschule exam is an internationally recognized language exam for university admission. All German universities recognize the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule exam. In addition to the DSH exam and the TestDaF, the telc C1 Hochschule certificate serves as proof of admission to studies.

How is the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule language test structured?
The telc C1 Hochschule exam consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam lasts 3 hours and 40 minutes.
- Reading comprehension and language modules (grammar, vocabulary, spelling): 90 minutes
- Break: 20 minutes
- Listening comprehension: 40 minutes
- Written expression: 70 minutes
The oral exam lasts approx. 16-21 minutes (after 20 minutes of preparation) and usually takes place on the same day.

Can I use a dictionary at telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule?
No.

How is the exam graded?
The exam is passed if at least 60% are achieved in both the written and the oral part. That means you have to reach at least 128 points. This corresponds to 99 points in the written test and 29 points in the oral test.

When do I get the telc certificate?
The examination is evaluated centrally at the telc headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. As soon as Perfect Deutsch has received the certificates, we will inform you by email (usually approx. 4-6 weeks after the exam date). Then you can collect your certificates at the Perfect German Examination Center during office hours on presentation of your photo ID.

Can the certificate also be sent to me? Also, abroad?
Shipping is possible but must be paid for on the day of the inspection (domestic € 10, within the EU € 20). Outside the EU, we only send the certificates via express delivery (DHL) for a fee of € 90.

Can someone else pick up my certificate?
With a signed power of attorney and a copy of your identity card, you can have the certificate picked up by someone you trust. The person must also have ID with them.

How long is my telc certificate valid?
Your certificate for a passed telc exam is valid indefinitely.

Can I repeat the exam?
Yes. You can repeat the telc C1 Hochschule exam as often as you like. If you only failed the oral or only the written exam (subtests 1–4), the relevant part of the exam can be repeated up to the end of the calendar year following the exam.
