Via telc A1 exam

The Sprachakademie Perfekt Deutsch is a licensed telc examination center and offers the telc German A1 language examination at regular intervals. You can register for this exam via Perfekt Deutsch within the registration deadline. In addition, Perfekt Deutsch offers A1 intensive courses and A1 evening courses for participants who want to take the telc Deutsch A1 language test.

  • When and where can I register for the telc exam?

    Once the fee has been paid, registration for the telc exam is binding.

  • When do I have to be in the Perfect German Examination Center on the day of the exam and what do I have to bring with me?

    After you have registered for the telc exam, you will receive a detailed schedule by email a few days before the exam.

    IMPORTANT: Keep the whole day free!

    • Please come to school on time on the day of the exam.
    • You must have your photo ID or passport with you.
  • Who is the telc A1 exam for?

    The telc A1 exam examines language skills at level A1 and is aimed at German learners who have an elementary level of German and would like to obtain an official language certificate at level A1. The telc A1 certificate is, for example, a language requirement when applying for a family reunification visa.

  • What is the telc A1 exam?

    The telc A1 exam is an internationally recognized telc language test. The telc A1 certificate is recognized both in Germany and by all German embassies.

  • How is the telc Deutsch A1 language test structured?

    The telc A1 exam consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam takes about 70 minutes.

    • Language modules, listening and reading: 55 minutes
    • Writing: 15 minutes

    In the writing part of the exam, candidates have to write simple letters and e-mails, for example. The oral exam takes about 16 minutes (excluding preparation time) and usually takes place on the same day. The telc A1 German exam is a group exam and runs like a conversation or interview. The oral exam has three parts. In the first part, the test items introduce themselves. Immediately afterwards, the participants should ask for information on two given topics from everyday life (with the help of cards with words) (ask W questions or yes / no questions). The third part of the telc A1 exam is about the participants asking their partners for something with the help of picture cards and then reacting to a request.

  • Can I use a dictionary with telc Deutsch A1?

    No.

  • How is the exam graded?

    The exam is passed if at least 60% are achieved in both the written and the oral part. That means you have to achieve at least 60 points.

  • When do I get the telc certificate?

    The examination is evaluated centrally at the telc headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. As soon as Perfect Deutsch has received the certificates, we will inform you (usually approx. 4-6 weeks after the exam date ) by email. Then you can collect your certificates at the Perfect German Examination Center during office hours on presentation of your photo ID.

  • Can the certificate also be sent to me? Also abroad?

    Shipping is possible, but must be paid for on the day of the inspection (domestic € 10, within the EU € 20). Outside the EU, we only send the certificates via express delivery (DHL) for a fee of € 90.

  • Can someone else pick up my certificate?

    With a signed power of attorney and a copy of your identity card, you can have the certificate picked up by someone you trust. The person must also have ID with them.

  • How long is my telc certificate valid?

    Your certificate for a passed telc exam is valid indefinitely.

  • Can I repeat the exam?

    Yes. You can repeat the telc A1 exam as often as you like. You have to repeat the entire exam – written and oral.
