Visa, confirmation of registration, if necessary

  • How can I get a confirmation of registration to submit to the embassy in my home country for visa purposes?

    1st step: online registration

    At Perfekt Deutsch you have the following options to register for a language course:

    2nd step: payment

    You can pay fees online or in the office .

    After receipt of the complete course fee on the account of Perfect German you will receive a confirmation of registration (incl. payment confirmation) sent by e-mail. You can present this document to the German embassy or consulate in your home country to apply for a visa. When planning your appointment, please note that from the time the course fee is transferred to the time you receive the confirmation of registration by e-mail can take up to 3 working days .

  • How many courses do I have to pay in advance?

    You can pay for just one course or multiple courses in advance. If you are still in your home country and need the registration confirmation from Perfect German for the visa, you should find out from the German embassy in your home country how many courses have to be paid for the issuing of the visa .

  • Is it possible to pay the course fee in installments?

    No. Unfortunately, payment by installments is not possible.

  • When do intensive language courses start and how long do they last?

    Intensive courses start every 2 months. Each course lasts approximately 8 weeks.

  • What happens if I notice that I cannot get my visa in time and will arrive late or not at all when the course starts in Germany?

    Before the course starts (by the 15th of the calendar month in which the first booked course begins), you must fill out the Course Admission Confirmation form in your account to confirm your course start.

    You will be given three options to choose from.

    1. Option: I confirm that I have received my visa and that I will be there in time for the language course.
    2. Option: I confirm that I did NOT receive my visa. I would like to move my language course to the next possible date free of charge. If I receive a rejection notice within the next 7 weeks, Perfekt Deutsch will refund my course fee minus a processing fee of €75.00 upon presentation of the rejection notice.
    3. Option: I confirm that I did NOT receive my visa. I want to wait for my visa. My course place will be reserved for me from now on for the entire duration of the course. I am allowed to be late for the course. In this case, however, my claim to the expiresReimbursement of the course fee for the first course if I should receive a rejection notice. If you do not fill out the form, the start of the course will automatically be postponed to the next course phase.
  • What happens if I don’t get a visa for Germany?

    In this case, send us the following documents in good quality to info@perfekt-deutsch.de :

    • Registration confirmation from Perfect German (pdf)
    • Rejection letter from the German embassy (pdf)

    Your course fee will be refunded. In this case, however, the processing fee of €95.00 will be retained. The refund of the course fee can take up to 10 working days.

  • Who can attend our language courses?

    Our A1-C1 intensive courses are aimed at:

    -Applicants
    -Female students
    -PhD students
    -German learners who want to prepare for a language test
    -German learners who want to learn German quickly and intensively

    Our A1-B2 evening courses are aimed at:

    -German learners who want to learn German alongside their job or studies
    -German learners who want to work in Germany

    The specialist language course B2/C1 medicine is aimed at foreign doctors who would like to work in Germany and prepare for the license to practice medicine, specialist language exam or telc B2/C1 medicine.

    Our A2-C1 special courses serve to refresh or deepen existing German language skills and are aimed at all learners who have already taken part in a German course.

    Our telc and TestDaF crash courses serve as a refresher on the existing knowledge of German. The focus is on training in the exam format.

    Upon request we can organize courses for individuals, business people or closed groups. Perfekt Deutsch always offers high-quality language instruction. With us you can always find a suitable language course.

  • How do I find out which course I can start with at Perfect German?

    Perfekt Deutsch offers 5 levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1). You can start at any level. The prerequisite for this is the successful completion of our entrance test or the submission of a language certificate. Please note that we only accept certificates from language schools and examination centers in Germany.

    Option 1: Entrance test at school

    You take part in the admission test at Perfekt Deutsch. After 2-3 business days you will receive your test results by email. (If you have not yet paid for the language course, you can also register and pay after the test, but only if there are still places available).

    Option 2: Submit your last language certificate

    If you have a language certificate from a language school in Germany and do not want your German language skills to be checked by the Perfekt Deutsch Language Academy , you can register directly for the selected level and upload your current language certificate directly when registering online.

    Important: Perfekt Deutsch points out that you can get a competent assessment of your current level of knowledge by taking part in our entrance test. Please note that the correct placement is crucial for successful participation in the language course.

  • For which courses is the entrance test or the submission of a language certificate mandatory?

    The entrance test is not necessary for the courses:

    • A1 intensive (approx. 200 UE), A1 in the evening (approx. 120 UE)
    • telc, TestDaF crash courses
    • specialty courses
    • telc exams

    The entrance test is compulsory for the courses:

    • A2, B1, B2, C1 Intensive (approx. 200 units)
    • A2, B1, B2 in the evening (approx. 120 teaching units)
    • B2/C1 medicine (approx. 150 units)
  • Where is the Perfekt Deutsch Language Academy located?

    Perfekt Deutsch is located in the center of Dortmund and has three teaching locations.

  • Which countries do most of the participants in the language courses come from?

    Our students come from all over the world (Asia, Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe, USA etc.).

  • How old are most of the course participants?

    • In intensive and crash courses: between 18 and 30 years old
    • In evening courses: between 18 and 50 years old

During the course

  • What is the timetable at Perfekt Deutsch?

    • A1, B1 and C1 intensive courses take place in the morning (8:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.).
    • A2, B2 intensive courses take place in the afternoon (12:45-17:00).
    • A1-B2 evening courses take place in the evening (5:15-8:15 p.m.).
    • B2-C1 medicine courses take place in the evening (5:15-8:30 p.m.).
  • Is a lesson at Perfekt Deutsch the same as a school lesson?

    Yes, a lesson at Perfekt Deutsch lasts 45 minutes, just like at school.

  • What other costs can be expected during the language course?

  • Where do the language courses take place?

    In one of the three Perfekt Deutsch branches in Dortmund (downtown)

  • When will I find out the address and the room where the course takes place?

    This information will be given to you online made available. You will receive an e-mail with the password one day before the course starts (after 6 p.m.) . (Check your spam folder!)

  • What books do I need for language lessons?

    You will find out when you register. On the first day of class, your teacher will tell you the book titles again.

  • Do I get a certificate at the end of the course?

    There is a final exam at the end of each level. If you pass the final exam, you will receive a certificate. Otherwise you will receive a certificate of participation in the course.

  • How can I use public transport in Dortmund or NRW at low cost?

    You can buy a Young Ticket or apply for a semester ticket as a language course student.

  • How and where can I buy the Young Ticket?

    • Simply fill out the order form and hand it in at the Customer Center (Dortmund Central Station).
    • Present a valid certificate of participation from Perfect German
  • Can I always get the semester ticket from the TU Dortmund?

    Basically yes.

    However, it is only worth applying for the ticket in October (beginning of the winter semester) and April (beginning of the summer semester). If you want to get the ticket in December, January or June etc., you still have to pay the full semester fee.

  • How much does the semester ticket cost and where do you pay the money?

    The semester fee is around €315.00 (as of 2022). You will transfer the money to the TU Dortmund account.

  • Can I use the ticket throughout NRW and really on all buses, trains and trams?

    Yes, as long as it is public transport. However, there may still be surcharges (e.g. some night buses in NRW or line 444 in Dortmund).

  • Who can enroll as a language student at the Technical University of Dortmund?

    All participants of the Perfekt Deutsch course can be enrolled as language students at the Technical University of Dortmund if they meet the formal requirements.

  • What other benefits do I get from enrolling as a language student?

  • What documents are required to enroll as a language student?

    TU Dortmund informs you about the semester ticket here. You will receive all further explanations from Perfect German on the first day of the lesson.

  • How do I find accommodation in Dortmund?

    The Perfekt Deutsch Language Academy does not rent any accommodation. Our partner company Student.service offers the room search service and other student services. Since a certain amount of advance notice is required to organize or search for accommodation, we recommend that you make an inquiry at least 3 months to be sent to info@studservice.de before the arrival date. Last-minute inquiries can only be processed if there is free capacity.
